Victoria Kessinger is a graduate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she got her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology. Her graduate training involved providing counseling to individuals and families with a broad range of concerns including trauma recovery, interpersonal difficulties, stress management, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders.
Victoria’s recent professional experience focuses on Health Psychology and included the management of chronic health conditions, weight-loss, eating disorders, and work/life balance. She believes that optimal health is achieved through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, fulfilling relationships, and regular self care. Victoria works from a Relational and Cognitive-Behavioral perspective to help clients improve their overall health and happiness. Through introspective work, she helps clients increase their insight and awareness of their problematic behaviors, thought processes, and relationships. With increased insight, clients are able to make changes that allow them to reach and sustain their health and life goals.
Victoria’s passion for Health Psychology began at a young age. Throughout childhood and adolescence she participated in organized sports and in high school she fell in love with distance running. During her college years, she began studying psychology and became further interested in the intersection between physical and mental health. In her free time, Victoria enjoys running along Lake Michigan, doing hot yoga, or trying out various group fitness classes.
